| My practice would best be described as General Dentistry which is to say that I do not specialize in any branch of dentistry but try to treat the whole need of my patients. That does not mean that I do all available treatment options or even treat every patient regardless of the severity of the dental needs. A general dentist is a good starting place where most of your dental care can be facilitated but also the source of information about referral to specialty practices. You will find my practice philosophy to be rather conservative in that I understand that most problems can be treated in more than one way. Many factors determine what treatment is ultimately recommended, not the least of which is finances. I will usually offer as first choice, the plan that I would offer to my own family. Many of my patients are second and third generation patients and I try to take care of their needs as if I will be their dentist for a lifetime. Unless you have an emergency that brings you to the office for the first time, we usually suggest a dental cleaning and full exam with x-rays for the initial appointment. That allows us to determine what needs you have and to share with you what we recommend before work is started. Dental health requires a lifetime of care just like physical health and we plan to be here for our patients when we are needed. |
